5 quotes from history’s greatest thinkers

I’m currently taking a philosophy class to meet a pre-requisite for one of the medical schools that I’m applying to, and suffice it to say, the topics are very thought-provoking.

So, I wanted to share some quotes from the class that have gotten me thinking, and I hope they’ll help you reflect on your own life as well:

“The one aim of those who practice philosophy in the proper manner is to practice for dying and death.” – Plato

“The unexamined life is not worth living.” – Socrates

I think, therefore I am.” – Descartes

I say that a man is condemned to be free.” – Jean-Paul Sartre

One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman.Simone de Beauvoir

The Final Musing

I’m no philosopher, but I think it’s important to ask questions that you won’t get straight answers to.

It’s very applicable to being an entrepreneur because much of what I do is just a giant experiment to figure out what works and double down on it.

Likewise, I think each of these philosophers treated their lives as a giant experiment, figured out what worked for them, and doubled down on it.

So, I’d love to hear what your favorite quote was and what first came to your mind after reading it!
